What is individual psychotherapy?
Individual psychotherapy is work with a therapist that best matches your individual needs. There are many different types of psychotherapy that you may have heard about: Psycho-dynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy and many more. Our therapists are skilled in several types of therapy, but most people do not usually know much about them. The most important thing is that you build a rapport with your therapist. Once you and your therapist have a good rapport and begin to build a trusting relationship a treatment plan is developed that allows you a process for discovering thoughts and feelings and developing new coping skills. Your therapist will work with you to identify your goals for therapy and the two of you will work together to come up with a unique treatment plan that will meet your individual needs.
