At Primrose Healing and Wellness, we have a simple philosophy:
There is not just one approach or type of treatment that works for people. Many treatment-resistant conditions or issues appear resistant only because the most appropriate form of treatment or healing has not happened. Our philosophy is to develop an individualized treatment plan that incorporates a range of therapies that best work for each person.
When many think of therapy, the image that springs to mind is of a ‘patient’ lying on a couch with a psychologist scribbling away on a notepad. But the reality is that therapy involves a huge range of activities that vary depending on what works for each individual. For some, that means talking therapy. For others, this means yoga and meditation. Curious about what holistic therapy could do for you? Have a look and get in touch for a free 15 minute chat with any and all of our staff.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
CBT is a method based on the notion that your feelings, actions and thoughts are all connected. CBT examines the way we think about situations in our lives and how these thought pattern affects the way we act. Through examining our thought patterns, CBT allows us to break negative thought cycles which impact the way we react to situations. This kind of natural therapy has also been proven to provide patients with the same benefits of modern antidepressants. Read more about CBT here.
Group Therapy is when a group of people with common concerns and challenges gather for talking therapy. Not only is there support from a therapist, but experiences can be shared from others who are going through similar situations, and is an excellent way for us all to know that we are not alone in our journey to wellness. Yoga is an ancient practice that still remains a relevant spiritual, mental, and physical exercise for many. With its meditative roots in India, yoga has spread across the globe as a testament to its powerful ability to strengthen mind and body, regardless of age or athletic ability. A more modern practice of yoga has incorporated physical movement, and as such, yoga works to connect all aspects of your being to bring a greater feeling of harmony and peace into your everyday life. Meet Jackie Huitink, Primrose’s yoga instructor, and learn more about her yoga practice here.
Reiki is both a hands-on and hands off method to restore balance to the body through realigning the chakras, which allows for energy to flow more freely and evenly throughout the body. This process of opening and adjusting helps to soothe tensions which manifest both physically and psychologically. While this can sound very new-age for newcomers to the practice, incorporating Reiki into your health and wellbeing routine is an important indication that you’re ready to move away from the unbalanced and begin to center and reenergize yourself. Read more about how Reiki can help you here.
Even with countless examples of healthy relationships in our personal lives and pop culture, understanding patterns of behavior and communication styles can still be a challenge. Couples counselling provides an opportunity to explore these aspects in a safe environment and learn new skills and techniques to acknowledge and appreciate what we bring to the relationship and what our partner does too. Learn more about couples counselling at Primrose here.
